It enables hospitals to electronically transmit medical records and diagnostic imaging reports that community-based clinicians can access and review through the web.
ABELMed furthermore has a built-in recall system which allows users to identify patients that need health maintenance and prevention activities: mammogram, pap smear, flu shot or immunization. It also has a billing functionalities which include the automatic generation of procedure codes and designation of tasks for billing staff to create bills. In addition, ABELMed offers voice and handwriting recognition capabilities which make clinical documentation easier and faster.

In addition, they have screens that can be flipped, enabling users to handwrite faster.
ABELMed has another capability which again speeds up clinical documentation. It offers a voice recognition capability that is made possible through its integration with Dragon Medical. Dragon Medical is a cloud-based clinical speech recognition solution. Through this integration, clinicians will be able to record voice files, and these files are instantly converted to text. The software then will auto-save the text, and it will automatically become a part of patient charts and other clinical records.
The software also introduces a feature which helps users save time and money, as it eliminates the manual processes of handling clinical reports and patient information: filing, faxing, and emailing. Referred to as the Health Report Manager, this feature allows users to electronically transmit clinical and diagnostic imaging reports directly into ABELMed. These reports then will be automatically posted in patient’s’ medical records. Furthermore, clinicians will be able to access them instantly from their emails for review and sign off.
