TOP 20

Beanstalk is one of the top 20 Version Control Systems products

If you are considering Beanstalk it could also be sensible to examine other subcategories of Best Version Control Systems gathered in our base of B2B software reviews.

It's important to keep in mind that virtually no service in the Best Version Control Systems category is an ideal solution that can match all the requirements of various business types, sizes and industries. It may be a good idea to read a few Beanstalk Best Version Control Systems reviews first as some software can dominate only in a very narrow set of applications or be prepared with a really specific industry in mind. Others might work with an intention of being easy and intuitive and as a result lack complicated functions welcomed by more experienced users. You can also come across services that focus on a broad group of users and give you a powerful feature base, however that usually comes at a more expensive cost of such a service. Be certain that you're aware of your requirements so that you select a software that provides all the elements you look for.

PROS: We’ve used it alongside the tortoise windows extension and now managing multiple repositories with various teams became faster and easier. When it comes to system set up, I think the process of setting up Beanstalk is way faster than Github. Also, the repositories are private.

CONS: It’s a bit pricey for small teams. I only have five developers in our team but I have to pay $25 every month.

PROS: I like the ease of setting up credentials as well as of pulling and pushing codes. Creating and storing feature branches is easy as well. Aside from that, I like that this system provides code review links. It makes it easier to share them with other developers.

CONS: It is not as comprehensive as other products in the market these days such as the Amazon code and Gitlab. But everything we needed is available so it's not really a big deal for us.

PROS: I like the ability to have an in-depth view of the files and know the number of commits behind the environment. With this, we are able to prevent disasters. A number of safety nets is also available to guarantee safety prior to deployment. This is pretty helpful especially for small teams like us. It allows us to stay on top of each commit.

CONS: Honestly, I find everything working fairly well. So right now, I cannot provide any cons.

PROS: I love its API and its integration with lots of apps such as basecamp and fogbugz. It also supports three of the most commonly used version control tools in the market, which is very helpful. And the best thing is, the product provides much value for the price. They also offer a free trial which has helped us know whether this really fits our needs before making a purchase.

CONS: I have some complaints but they are mostly minor ones. For instance, the product is not as comprehensive as other solutions in the market like bitbucket or github. But I don’t think it is a deal breaker.

PROS: It offers everything you would expect from a remote repository service and more. It provides built-in deployments along with additional attractive deployment-related functionalities.

CONS: The web interface is not very user friendly. The icons are quite small and we struggle finding old comments. Also, I find the code review system a bit clunky. An update would be so helpful so new users won't have a hard time finding things.

PROS: I love the versatility and ease of use of their deployment system. There's an online code editor, which is great for doing hot fixes as well as quick edits. The product is overall great, so are the people who provides support. They are simply amazing! Always available when I need them the most. They also know their product very well and helps us fix issues fast.

CONS: I think it would be the price. It can be quite expensive especially for small teams. Nevertheless, the vendor find ways to make things work for their client. So it's not really a concern.

PROS: Works fairly well for basic git/vsn version control and integrates with all our existing tools and apps. Code deployment is also pretty easy and seamless. Well, thanks to their deploy bot service.

CONS: The code review system is fairly basic is somehow unweildy. I would really love to see some improvements on it. At least they make it better if not at par with Github's reviewing.
