What is OneDrive For Business?

OneDrive for Business is a major component of the Office 365 or SharePoint server. At the moment, it is also one of the best performing and most popular file sharing apps available on the market. It offers businesses with a secure cloud-based hub where users can store, share, and sync their documents, business materials, and other work files. As it is located in the cloud, OneDrive for Business provides users with mobility and flexibility that enables them to work, update, and collaborate even if they are in the field or at home, away from the office.

OneDrive For Business protects the documents stored inside its system with industry-grade security protocols, and grants management total control over permissions and authorizations as to how much storage space is given to each user, who can view the files, and who to share their files with. On top of that, OneDrive for Business is Office 365’s best integrated and most flexibly priced tool, where the price depends exclusively on the features you want to include, and the scale of your business.

PROS: The one thing I like is its ability in starting a document from a single PC then saving it to a drive, and picking up where I left off on another PC or laptop. If the PC I'm using lacks Microsoft Word -- not an issue! Its online Word editor functions really well. It not only has a great appearance but it's easy to get the hang of it.

CONS: The service can be slow at times. Images can take some time to upload. The iOS app stops working on some occasions although it's something overly big.

PROS: Aesthetically pleasing, friendly user interface, the online and offline experience of using the Microsoft Office application are the same, fast syncing of files from computer to the cloud and vice versa, fast downloading of files, and accessible even using the app or any browser--smooth overall experience.

CONS: Third-party application access to files is restricted and sometimes edits on files take time to reflect on the current file.

PROS: There are a lot of advantages OneDrive offers. We have been using the application for more than four years now and these are the benefits I personally experienced: 1. Secure file storage even for large files; 2. Accessibility of files in different devices, OS, and locations; 3. Collaboration made easier with integration with Microsoft Office; 4. Easy sharing of files among colleagues and clients; 5. Files access restrictions (other users can view, comment, or edit the document); 6. Flexible subscription plans

PROS: I am so thankful for Microsoft OneDrive. I no longer have to copy and paste my files across my devices, I just have to save it in OneDrive and I can access files with whatever device I use. The app is really convenient especially with me who usually is on the go. Sharing files and accessibility to company files has improved as well.

CONS: It can be annoying that the logins expire and I have to log in again and sometimes problems with syncing arise even though I have a decent and stable connection.

PROS: OneDrive is the most convenient and easy to use storage application I have used. It acts as a folder in my computer and whenever I save files to that folder it immediately uploads it to the cloud. I love how accessible it is by phone, by desktop, or by different browsers and OS. It is the most convenient because it works well with Microsoft Office (being it a Microsoft product as well), Skype, and Teams.

CONS: None.

PROS: OneDrive offers a lot of benefits which makes users sure that their files are protected while also being more accessible to those who need the files. What I personally like about the application is that I can easily sync my files from my computer to the cloud and my other devices and I can share my files easily to whoever I like while also putting restrictions on how they can access them (whether they can view, edit, comment, download, etc.). It is an easy to access tool but also I have full authority on how I like to use, share, and control the files in my cloud.

CONS: Using OneDrive gave me more storage on my devices and safe storage of files on the cloud. No bad comments to share.

PROS: OneDrive is fantastic since you can access documents seamlessly within its desktop app and the cloud. What's more, it's bundled with Office 365. Microsoft is providing each user around 1TB of storage without additional cost. This is essential for a small-sized company who's not in need of servers/complement for employees as they continue working on separate projects.

CONS: It fails to sync with in-house servers. It doesn't do this in a manner that's effective and efficient.

PROS: I like the amount of space needed in storing a bunch of stuff. I've had my chances with Dropbox and other services like like it. But this one has way more space. That means not having to worry about taking in high resolution images and docs with my colleagues. I like how I'm able to create folders and have everything organized.

CONS: It underwent a lot of changes before the current one. I don't remember it as "OneDrive." At times, I'd have to look into the Microsoft cloud to find that "OneDrive." Before it got to that name, it was called "SkyDrive."

PROS: Our company switched from using physical storage servers to cloud storage and we can never look back. First of all, using cloud storage is much cheaper than using physical storage serves. Microsoft also offers flexible subscriptions so we can choose whichever would cater to the needs of the user. Second, it is a secure yet accessible way to store company files. Company files have been more accessible to employees so workflow has been smoother, yet admins can also edit restrictions on who can access files so we don't have to worry about breaches. And third, we can use OneDrive wherever we are and whatever device we use.

CONS: Uploading and downloading files from the cloud needs a strong internet connection.

PROS: I like how I'm able to sync all my Microsoft products with it. Plus I get to see all of them online. I get to edit documents over the internet or have them downloaded to any PC. I like how its cloud service is free regardless if you bought a physical copy or paid for it via yearly subscription. You can easily share docs to others through e-mail.

CONS: I dislike having an update center frequently running in the background. I'm pretty sure it's meant to keep your docs updated online. Thing is, it can be a bit funky. Whenever I save any of my docs, two OneDrive versions would appear on my PC. I'll have to remember saving the same one each and every single time.

I'm able to work anywhere knowing the convenience of gaining access to files anytime. We've subscribed to Office 365 and with employees taking on tasks remotely, we're no longer VPN-dependent. We can keep all documents open in the middle of a discussion or making changes. I love how you're able to see who and when edits were made on documents.

PROS: I like the fact that you can gain access to all documents from any device. It's essential for both personal and work-related reasons. If I happen to be working from home, I get to access documents via the software from my PC at the office. If I happen to be at work, I'm able to access personal documents whenever I'm in need of them. The sync client is awesome.

CONS: The first step can be a bit of a pain as it involves a very long process. Getting your account set up, download programs, and syncing with a client can take around an hour (or longer). Thanks to the latest sync client, it seems really quick in setting it up. When we initially used OneDrive, they were pretty much an "old sync" system that functioned really slow and not holding as much --- all this hassle is actually going through in the later going.

PROS: OneDrive's programs work just like its programs on a desktop PC. I love the fact that it's barely different from other third party programs. Transitioning is seamless. Being able to share folders and documents and accessing them remotely are a must. I'm definitely relieved to no longer worry about copying a document to a flash drive or e-mailing stuff to yourself.

CONS: I'm having issues trying to switch from one device to the next. It happens rarely but it can be frustrating when a document fails to load or when I'm forced to recall/change my login. Editing documents at the same time with other users is a forgetful functionality. You'll have to start working on documents on other times or saving numerous copies of documents that have been edited.

PROS: Since I work with a number of projecs that involves a lot of files being shared, I constantly use Microsoft OneDrive. This ensures everyone gets in touch working with the latest updated file. At the same time, they have accessiblity to project files from a single location. It minimizes effort and time for my team to seek and make use of project files.

CONS: Access control can be a bit of a problem. You're able to give access control. OneDrive sends out an e-mail, but once that link is expired within your inbox, it's difficult making your way back to the drive. I realized I'd have to start issuing access once more to the shared OneDrive location. This is due to the link being utilized on occasion and due to it being lost by a member of the team.

PROS: One great thing with OneDrive is the numerous features it came with. You're able to spread out files across an organization. You can even restrict certain individuals in accessing specific files in their tightly secured cloud system. OneDrive contains a wide range of functionality in making PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and even scanning documents directly to it! There's nothing really negative with the software since it functions incredibly well on any OS.

CONS: Whenver a new functionality is included, they should make it public. That way, more people can use them. Some have no clue of its useful features.
