AVImark Review

A powerful feature of AVImark is its inventory management functionality. Supporting an integration with Henry Schein’s Intelligent Inventory, a cloud-based inventory service that aids veterinarians to apply inventory control and accuracy and process purchase orders efficiently; this feature allows users to implement an accurate tracking of their retail and drug stock levels and pricing.

Users would be able to see a notification when a purchase order has been processed by Henry Schein. When orders have been received on site at their practice, such purchase orders should undergo the receipting process within AVImark. This would ensure users that their on-hand quantities and item costs remain current. To be able to receive orders in AVImark they have to navigate through some windows within the software and follow the needed steps.

They first need to do a mapping of items between the AVImark Inventory List and Henry Schein Product Catalog. By clicking the Services tab above the Client Display screen, Intelligent Inventory, and Review Purchase Orders; they would be able to view the Intelligent Inventory Import Purchase Orders window. This window shows all the purchase orders (POs) processed by Henry Schein and when a PO is received at users’ practice , it has to be imported into AVImark. From this window, they have to select the item that requires a mapping which is highlighted in yellow. After selecting the appropriate item, they have to click the Rx items button below to go to the AVImark Inventory List window where they would be able to select the item.

When an item or PO has been successfully mapped, the yellow highlight on it in the  Inventory Inventory Purchase Order window would disappear. When mapping of all the appropriate items is done, they would then import them into the purchase order within AVImark by clicking the Import button.

Once all the items are imported, users would be able to receive the orders in AVImark. To do this, they have to click the Rx speed bar window located at the top of the Client Information Display screen and select File, Order, and Choose  from the AVIMark Inventory List window. This would lead them to the Orders window where they could see all the imported POs from the Intelligent Inventory. Double left-clicking the order that they have to receive would load the Purchase Order window and in this window they would see a list of purchase order details.

From this window, users would be able to adjust the quantities and costs of the items and input invoice information, tax, shipping, and other charges. The additional fees would be divided among the other items on the invoice and would be added to their average costs. In case the item cost has been increased, AVImark would retain the markup and a markdown for an item price is not possible in the software as it only allows users to markup. This feature of AVImark enables users to maintain profit margins.

Another feature of AVImark is its SOAP functionality. Through this feature users would be able to track the specific problems and conditions  that animals are experiencing and prepare treatment plans according to the diagnoses. Tracking of problems is made easy because users would be able to choose the applicable information from the SOAP window such as abnormalities and  potential and final diagnoses. Furthermore, they are also provided with the option to select types of observation notes as well as the ability to add more data fields for the SOAP folders.

One of the most powerful features of AVImark is its integration with laboratory instruments. With this feature, users would be able to automatically download tests and lab results. In addition, it helps them generate lab results by defining the test result fields. AVImark’s machine integrations that include  Abaxis, Antech, Forcyte, Hemagen, Hemavet, Heska, Idexx and Scil enables users to access test and lab results straight from their medical records as data import is automated in this functionality. Therefore it saves time and makes the practice of veterinary much easier manage.
