ProjectManager Review

PROS: I like that I can customize it in different ways based on the project model. I can choose Kanban or Gantt Charts or both, and, throw in task lists, I have a flexible tool that adapts to different methodologies. This is helpful for companies like us that deal with a range of client projects. Overall, the software is intuitive and easy to integrate with other systems.

CONS: Reporting can be improved. It'd have been nice if there are more choices and ways to visualize data.

PROS: The tool keeps all my projects well organized. I am thankful that I found Project Manager because things in the office are now easier to manage. I can easily reach out with my colleagues to determine the status of each project. The app is very user friendly, and it comes with other functionalities that are relevant to any business project. You can monitor the status of each project using charts that gives out reliable results.

CONS: It would be nice if it improves some of its basic features like the calendar. Giving us the ability to schedule appointments, set recurring alarms, and so much more. I do not see anything extraordinary about the calendar, and I hope that they could make it more impressive and useful for users.

PROS: - Easy to use & intuitive interface. We looked at around 20 other products and this was in the top 3 in terms of how easy it was to find & execute what we wanted to - Dashboard and reports are accessible and give us most of what we need, quickly and easily - Gantt chart functionality is very good - quick and easy to either import existing plans or create new ones from scratch, with ability to type in values in the columns on the left, or "click and drag" to achieve the same effect in the Gantt chart section. - PM.com support team has been helpful and responsive - Resource management functionality gives us what we need to easily see all tasks & availability across the team, and factor this in when scheduling future tasks - The software license cost is lower than many competitor products

CONS: - Ability to configure and customise reports is limited. There are a set number of reports available as standard, and some fields and attributes that you can add and remove from each report. However, if there is anything else you want that is not in these then there is no way of creating / developing it in the system - Linked to the above - financial reporting is limited. There are reports providing a listed breakdown of project costs, and a high level "cost vs budget" bar chart in the dashboard, but not much else. More sophisticated analysis of profitability / margins and trends over time need to be completed outside of the system, which is not the case in some of the competitor products - There is only one method to apportion time, i.e. the average amount of hours per day that the task is scheduled for. It is not possible to vary this (e.g. front-loading of effort to the start of a task, or accounting for a day of absence in the middle of a task), which again some competitor products provide - Visibility of future product developments has been limited. We have submitted a number of enhancement / feature requests but have not received any feedback around if / when new functionality will be deployed in the system

PROS: I enjoy using this platform because everything is organized, and it helps me monitor the status of each project. I learned this in just an hour, and things have never been the same again. In case you need help, you can browse through its content to get some answers.

CONS: Project Manager comes with a variety of features that I find useful for our company. But in terms of integration, I can say that there is still room for improvement. If they could find a way to partner with MS Project, we can maximize the tool for upcoming projects.

PROS: Easy to use, but I didn't have a lot of time to try it

CONS: I signed up for the 30 days trial. However, due to the Covid-19 situation, we didn't have enough time to try it so I forgot about it. A day after the trial ended I noticed the charge on my credit card and I reached out to the customer support. Even though they were not obliged to refund me, my experience with other companies that offer trial periods is that if you miss by a day they give you the refund or at least some of the money back. Furthermore, I was told that in the registration process I signed up for a plan that is for 15 users for one month and not for an annual one. I asked if it's possible to change it to an annual plan, as I was already billed the amount, and I was told this is not possible. I am not saying that they did anything illegal or wrong, but their inflexibility was very disappointing. This is the worst service I have ever encountered from a SaaS company and I highly recommend not to use their software

PROS: Offered a free trial and that is about it. It provides similar look as MS Project, but does not offer the same functionality.

CONS: Automatically cancelling after free trial after trial period unless customer wants to continue utilizing the software would be more appropriate.

PROS: There is no need for me to micromanage all my employees. I can easily monitor what is happening daily with each project that we have. I can always touch base with everyone whenever necessary. The team can easily convey their ideas and suggestions for the betterment of each project. I can easily share any information with the team, whether they are documents, reports, or any source that is essential for the success of the project.

CONS: The main challenge of using this platform is it becomes slower whenever I open a document. Every time I try to edit a word, excel, or PDF file on the app, I notice that things start becoming slower. This can cause frustrations and delays on our end, so I am hoping that they could find a permanent fix for this issue.

PROS: Despite being a web-based project management tool, ProjectManager.com is very adept in producing in-depth reports. It has also allowed our team to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, something that our previous management software was not able to do. On top of it all, the application is easy to use.

CONS: There are times when certain pages of ProjectManager.com take a while to load. Aside from that, their support team can be sketchy at times but they could still improve.

PROS: I love how it enables me to share reports with other people. You can also update your project anywhere provided you have an internet connection. The user interface is very easy to understand. Customer support is also very responsive and helpful.

CONS: Sometimes planning on the platform can be quite difficult and slow.

PROS: The tool lets you do updates on your project wherever you go. It can help you do that at any point in time. It'll let you share reports with your teammates over the internet. ProjectManager.com has a user-friendly UI. Using it has been nothing but easy from the very beginning.

CONS: Planning a project with the tool can be hard. What's worse is that it tends to running really slow. I wish there was another way to make things simpler to plan projects and make things a litle faster. Right now, those are the two things that are a downer.

PROS: I find this tool to be a thousand times better than MS Project. It goes beyond just being that "alternative" option. it offers excellent collaboration with the team. I can access it wherever and whenever. The UI is straight to the point and flat out simple. Comes with plenty of handy functionality.

CONS: Its pricing could be a little lower. Maybe they need to have more offers for both new and exiting users. Having forecasting functionality pre-installed within the system as well as report generation could use some improvement. Other than that, nothing else to complain about.

PROS: Easy to use and deploy. Cheaper cost of entry than the better optioins available.

CONS: 1. You don't own your data. No exit strategy. Data security. 2. Customer service is ATROCIOUS. Rude email replies, no phone service. 3. Onerous billing practices (which are clearly laid out in the fine print of their terms & conditions.) 4. Unwillingsness to let you leave. They will continue to bill you to the full extent of their terms...like it or not. READ THE FINE PRINT. It reminds me of a gym membership. WARNING: I WOULD NOT SUGGEST ANY GOVERNMENT OR BUSINESS USERS ADOPT THIS SOFTWARE. I WILL MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO MY STATE GOVERNMENT TO AVOID THIS VENDOR.

PROS: Real-time dashboards help us keep tabs on the project's progress. An issue can quickly escalate and derail targets, but with the software's ability to give us a level of visibility, it's easy to spot bottlenecks and resolve problems fast. It also helps that the UI is intuitive, it was really fast to get the team members on-boarded.

CONS: It's a bit at the higher end of the price spectrum compared with other small business project management software. The personal plan, for instance, is nearly comparable to a competitor's free plan.

PROS: I find projectmanager.com not just an alternative to MS Project but a far superior product. It is very easy to use and one can collaborate with team members anytime, anywhere. The user interface is easily understandable and we can access all useful features there.

CONS: They can do better with the price. I think they can make it more affordable. The report generation feature is good but it still needs a few tweaks to make it better in my opinion. They can also add a native forecasting system at the current selling price. New offerings should be added for current users.

PROS: We're using this tool in implementing whatever project we want to carry out. We're operating a small company with more than a dozen implementations happening simultaneously for the same kind of project. A useful software worht keeping the moment we discovered it.

CONS: There are way too many alerts that require managing for a single user. This can be overwhelming for folks who are using for the first time. It can also be nuisance for the long term. We were hoping a fix or a solution can be made to lessen alerts.

PROS: I'm using the Personal plan and it's robust enough for my needs. Price is affordable, easy to squeeze into a month-to-month budget until you get paid by the client. It lets you work closely with your team, contractors and clients in one place. User roles let me segregate discussions and pipelines.

CONS: If you want to customize reports you have to run the default then change it. It's much faster if the software can format reports before you do the analytics. That way, you eliminate the revision part.

PROS: You can monitor different projects at the same time. You are also reminded of the required time to complete them.

CONS: I, personally, like the platform. I don’t find any feature somewhat lacking. There are members of our accounting department, though, that think that the user interface is kind of confusing a bit. I’m not sure exactly what or where they mean that.

PROS: I didn't actually use projectmanager.com - I signed up for the free trial to see what their timesheets look like.

CONS: I am currently using Monday.com and Smartsheet.com and I needed a timesheet app as well. I was exploring different apps that might have all 3 functions, and found Projectmanager.com. I signed up for the free trial and had to sign up for the Business profile. For the signup it mentions $25 per user, but it doesn't mention that you have to pay for 15 users. I didn't get a reminder of the trial expiring and had no forewarning that they were going to debit my account. They deducted R5,700.00 ($395) and I didn't even use it! This is 12 times more expensive than my most expensive software. I requested a refund, because I didn't use the service at all, but my request was denied even though they didn't stick to their terms of agreement by sending out a reminder.

PROS: Be very carefully with this software they are just thief they can your money even if you have never used it and what is surpose to be £25.00 they took £280 out of my bank DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY THEY ARE THIEFS

CONS: Not to be theifs

PROS: Only used 3 times during trial period, never learned any of the better aspects

CONS: Their own documentation specifically shows there was 3 uses during the free trial, then no use for two months until I noticed they were charging me $264.39 per month. I went online to try and cancel the account but in the end had to call in to cancel. I have never received any receipts from Project Manager for either of the transactions they processed through my credit card. I only found out after seeing it on my bill after 2 billings. I've only every received 1 email from project manager and that was on the days I signed up for the free trial and a reply to my support request cancelling the account. Hiding a clause in the fine print of an agreement the company knows full well most people don't read all the way through in any kind of thorough manner. They can full well see I have not used their product, outside of the free trial, yet they still feel the need to rip off their clients. To add to that they felt it was ok to charge me for 10 Users who, not one of them, ever used the system as stated on the evidence they provided my credit card company. I may have been playing around in their free trial period with several users but to charge me for 10 Users is ridiculous. I did try to have them understand my point of view and was replied with the standard "you should have read all of our fine print" A grand total of $526.78 on something that I never used........guess ProjectManager.com needed my money more than I did.

PROS: The UI is easy to to use the moment you enter its dashboard. Little to no training is needed. The only actual work involved in utilizing the tool was dealing with its internal processes. For the rest, it's either hands off or little involvement is needed.

CONS: One thing that I don't favor favor with the tool is that whenever tasks are connected and the first individual is through with whatever task is being delegated to them, it won't alert the other individual it's time to start doing what they're supposed to do.

PROS: Very easy to use. It is intuitive and has some great features. Simple piece of software but very effective!

CONS: Custom reports could be more flexible but most needs are met with pre-built reporting tools.

PROS: The browser based PM is fairly easy to use but if you don't have a connection, you are not going to be doing any project management.

CONS: The website pricing is very deceptive. It is designed to appear that the charge is $20/month to use their software. However it is $20/user/month and they automatically charge for 10 users. So 5 days after the trial we received a charge of $200.
