What Problems Will Zoho People Solve?
Problem #1: Need for seamless onboarding
Solution: Nigel, the HR manager of Falcon enterprises, spends most of his time manually managing onboarding activities. He has to contact each and every department (concerned team – salary contacts, IT – asset allocation, Admin – benefits and other allowances) either through email, telephone or sometimes even through sticky notes. Once the information is received from each team, he processes the new hire requirements. This process could take up to four weeks.
With Zoho People, all he does is add a new employee. Automated workflows that trigger multiple checklists are created, and the different departments are notified simultaneously. No individual emails or phone calls anymore. The new hire requirements are fulfilled more effectively. Nigel’s burden was reduced tremendously and onboarding now only takes four days.
Problem #2: Need for efficient attendance and time-off management
Solution: Zillium is an organization based in Australia. They have offices all around the globe, with many employees working from different branches in different time zones. This could prove a problematic situation for the HR department to consolidate the attendance and leave details of all the employees.
However, with Zoho People, employees just log into the online portal and simply check-in. Time-off and casual leaves can be applied for and approved directly online, saving HR time and resources. And the best part? Everything is available in a single, centralized location— Zoho People.
Problem #3: Need for flexible timesheets and multi-level approvals
Solution: Dave is always on the move. His role involves traveling back and forth to client locations. His organization is very particular about submitting timesheets on time. With continuous traveling, this seems impossible.
That is why Dave uses Zoho People. He fills his timesheets online when a job is completed instead of compiling it at the last minute. Once he submits his time log, his manager gets a notification (with multi-level approvals, more than one manager can be configured for approvals) and instantly the timesheet is approved. The integration with Zoho CRM ensures that the concerned client can be selected and billed accordingly.

PROS: With Zoho People software I have easy access to my employees’ information and background. An API gives me the ability to integrate with my HR tool such as: biometric timeclock.
CONS: All of their applications are in different places with different icons and words. If they could make all their app and interface to look clear and simple that would be great.

PROS: Its pricing structure is reasonable enough for a small business. As a matter of fact, the Zoho People version we have is the free version. I happen to be the only individual in our small-sized organization that requires HR access so this turned out great. Zoho People lets segregate full-time employees from that of part-time workers, and both of these from my current contractors.
CONS: Its terminology can be a bit complex to comprehend initially. The whole thing appears to be a converted English version. It's understandable since the product itself isn't based in the U.S. There are some items that I'm still trying to be familiar with.
