DocMeIn is a cloud-based patient appointment scheduling software designed for healthcare service providers, practitioners, and medical facilities. Described as easy to use, DocMeIn helps individual practitioners and healthcare facilities manage their schedule availability with flexibility, book appointments with their patients quickly, and remind patients of their upcoming appointments and next check-ups automatically.

Furthermore, DocMeIn is using an online calendar that organizes appointments and services through color codes. These color codes show the status of each patient appointment or service. The software also enables patients to schedule appointments online, which the healthcare provider can accept or decline depending on his or her availability. To reduce the instances of no-shows, DocMeIn allows providers to send automatic reminders by email, text and voice messages to their patients. DocMeIn enables healthcare providers to manage their available business hours for their appointments with flexibility. Thus, they are provided with an option wherein they will be able to set up breaks within the time range of their business hours. They will be able to do this for each day of their available schedules.

Another option is that they can add alternative break times if they want to. So, in case they won’t be able to follow their scheduled breaks for a specific day, they will be able to easily override them. In addition, providers can override their schedules at once if they fall on holidays or vacations.

Additionally, DocMeIn offers an online calendar where practitioners and providers will be able to obtain a single view of all their patient appointments. The schedules of appointments that can be viewed on the calendar are those created by the practitioner and those requested by the patients. In addition, the calendar will also show the statuses of the appointments, indicating if the practitioner or the patient has already confirmed them or not yet. Through the aid of color codes, users will be able to determine the status of each appointment.

Furthermore, users will be able to configure the software to set up when their patients can send appointment requests and which types of services their patients can request appointments for. When a patient requests for an appointment, the tentative schedule of the appointment will be automatically viewed by the practitioner on the calendar. As the practitioner views the appointment, he or she will be able to either accept or decline it based on his or her availability.

The automatic reminder functionality allows users to send appointment reminders to their patients through email, text, or phone (voice message). These reminders are sent based on the conditions and rules set up by the practitioners that trigger them.

When such rules are met and such conditions occur, the reminders are automatically sent out to patients. In setting up automatic reminders, a practitioner can use message templates for the recurring messages that will be delivered to patients to confirm their appointments. Additionally, when patients cancel their appointments, users will also be able to reschedule them easily.
