1) Integrated time tracking

Timesheet keeping is often critical to most businesses and very rarely done well. When you are busy and bouncing between tasks, you don’t have time to jump over to a different platform to start and stop a timer, or manually enter the time you have spent – sometimes it is minutes. So often we see timesheet codes for “updating timesheet” – that can’t be right.

Doddle solves this by automatically starting a timer as you start working on a task, stopping it when you move to another task or you complete this one. At the end of the day, you have a full timesheet and know exactly what to be billing your clients for. And with the Doddle Continuous Timer, you can even capture the gaps between tasks, where you forgot to mark a task as doing. Capturing every single minute of every single day.

2) The Doddle Widget

When building a website, or really any creative work, when you ask for feedback from a client what you tend to get is a long email detailing the amendments they would like, followed by a further 4 “Oh and one more thing” emails, followed by 3 “scrap that, I’ve worked it out” emails – by the end of this it’s impossible to work out what the feedback actually is, and mistakes happen.

This is where the Doddle widget comes in – by giving the client a widget in Chrome they can use to pin and point to parts of their website with a note. This then lands in the Doddle funnel, allowing the user to look through the feedback, comment and ask for further information, before moving it to the to-do list and assigning it to another team member. Keeping feedback very simple – and actually making sure Doddle users are charging for work considered to be “scope creep”.

3) Staying on target

You sit down at your desk in the morning and think about what you need to do today – then the phone rings and someone is asking you to do something urgently…a common occurrence. Without keeping track of what you plan to do today, you can reach the end of the day having not done a single one of the tasks you intended on completing.

Doddle has the simple, but effective, “Today” list. A list that allows you to go through your projects, your clients and pick out the tasks you *need* to do today and, with one simple click, move it to your “Today” list. Then, for the rest of the day, you can spend on one page, rather than jumping between different projects.

Even when the phone rings you can add client or project specific tasks directly through the Today list – and with this kind of visibility, even if you do have to do the urgent request, you can see what you’re potentially not doing as a result. At the end of the day any remaining tasks will remain on that list, but moved to the “Outstanding” column…so nothing you meant to do, gets lost back in your task backlog.
