What Problems Will LiquidPlanner Solve?

LiquidPlanner for IT

  • Challenge: Lack of visibility is a constant challenge for all levels of a project. Typically, only the project manager has a view into the whole picture of a project; the rest of the team has no idea where they land within the project and can only see their own tasks. While the PM understands the whole picture, he or she often doesn’t have visibility into whether or not everything is proceeding as planned. Without visibility, IT teams are often surprised by risk factors that seem to appear out of nowhere and have little time to correct course to deliver projects on time.
  • Solution: LiquidPlanner gives visibility into a lot of the risks of a project early on so IT teams have ample opportunity to mitigate those risks. A centralized workspace, ranged estimates capturing risk, and dynamically updated and predictive scheduling all lead to greater visibility across all stakeholders.  With LiquidPlanner, everyone can see the progress and overall, it helps with team morale because everyone has insight into the entire project timeline.

LiquidPlanner for Development Teams

  • Challenge: Development teams often have difficulties determining, in real-time, how changes in direction will affect their project timelines. When emergencies, contingencies, and fire drills happen, they can really impact priorities across multiple projects. Pulling a single developer off a long-running project can significantly change when the project is ready to ship. Being able to know how greatly it will affect projects and being able to communicate it to additional stakeholders is a challenge.
  • Solution: With LiquidPlanner’s ability to quickly prioritize individual tasks and entire projects, the project plan is always updated in real time. That’s when the app’s patented scheduling engine will auto-balance the schedule based on workspace members availability and workloads. No longer will development teams have project slippage because they couldn’t properly gauge the impact of other projects in the entire portfolio, such as when testing teams get pulled off onto another project. Now they can plug that information in and get instant impact analysis across projects.

LiquidPlanner for Project Managers

  • Challenge: Project managers need a deep understanding of their organization’s resources, capabilities and availabilities. In any fast-paced organization, this is a moving target. Project managers need to know the status, issues, risks, etc. of all their projects in real time. This is a challenge because the status, issues, and risks on any project are constantly in flux. Without a deep understanding of where their projects are at any given point, PM’s are unable to anticipate issues and work to overcome roadblocks.
  • Solution: With automatic workload balancing, and dynamically updated and predictive scheduling, LiquidPlanner offers the ability to understand what everyone is working on without actually having to ask them to constantly provide status updates. Furthermore, LiquidPlanner users will have a historical view into past projects which will enable them to better understand if their processes are working and where there is opportunity for improvement.

Pros:
I work for an ecommerce agency that deals with web development and ROI marketing optimization.
Our Liquid Planner experience has been awesome so far, due to the clear overview on deadlines and assignments. We appreciate the ‘My Work’ feature, and we perceive it to be a personal assistant for each member of our production department. I could even say we’re predicting results, and we calculate properly what needs to be done in order to achieve them. That’s a lot of stress to get rid of!
That’s not all! Liquid Planner is safe and repeatedly optimized, which assures us that there are no risks attached to our company growth.
As a collaborative company, we believe that Liquid Planner is great for managing multiple projects. We recommend it to every business with a similar ideology.

Cons:
Liquid Planner has been so helpful, that there is really nothing we could share, but words of appreciation.

Pros:
I honestly prefer ranged estimates to single point estimates when accomplishing my tasks. The system supports high-quality analytics, and has an ‘ever developing’, robust dashboard to work on.
You can choose from a rich palette of management styles (waterfall and agile included), even if I personally prefer the optimization of agile. The View function is absolutely amazing, and it helps you stay on top of every role, card, schedule, or even the entire project.

Cons:
The dashboard is not exactly equipped for the needs of C-level visibility. That one and the rearrangement of tasks should definitely be improved!
Then, the issue of the mobile time-tracker: the app works, it’s not like it is completely dysfunctional, but I think it should be improved. According to me, managers have too much space to manipulate a project, especially when workers track their hours accurately.
