What is Promys PSA?

Promys PSA is an enterprise PSA software, melding traditional help desk, time sheet, expense and billing modules, project management, with equally powerful CRM, purchasing, inventory, quoting, job costing as well as enterprise reporting and analytics functionality.

Promys not only automates sales, service delivery, order fulfillment and post sales support, it also includes customer self service portals, mobile access from any smartphone or tablet, integration with most e-mail & calendars and access to our published web API at no extra cost.

Promys PSA software was originally developed in 1998 by a fast-emerging technology solution provider.

As businesses grow, projects become larger and managing project risk becomes more important. It’s almost impossible to manage project risk if PMs only find out true project profitability after the project has closed. Managing project risk properly requires providing PMs with real-time cost against budget visibility into their projects. Weak PSA job costing and project management modules, or managing services in the PSA and product/equipment somewhere else, drives many PMs to manage project job costing in always out-of-date spreadsheets. This is not the ideal way to manage project risk and project profitability.

What Promys PSA does differently: Promys PSA has very strong integration between the detailed labor estimates and product BOMs that quotations are based on and the sales order, project management, procurement and time & billing modules, which provides PMs with detailed mid-project profitability visibility and cost against budget analytics. This allows PMs to proactively get in front of project issues as they happen, which puts them in a position to be more effective at managing project risk.

When a senior executive’s phone rings and it’s a customer, they’re hardly ever calling you to tell you what a great job you’re doing. Promys also provides automated escalations based on SLA and can update management when ticket status, priority or category changes. For high priority tickets, management can also be copied automatically on every resolution step and outcome.

The link is at the detailed labor estimate and quoted BOM level, which also allows executives to slice and dice the forecast by labor type, manufacturer, line of business, product type, etc. This kind of forecasting visibility makes executive planning much more effective.

Pros:
Promys does everything from tracking sales interactions to managing our inventory. It is very intuitive and easy to use. It also integrates with our accounting package so there is no need to manually duplicate entries. Because the software is web based, we can use it on any platform including mobile devices.

Cons:
The integrations into QuickBooks can cause some minor difficulties, but that is strictly related to our line of business and large quantity line items for certain services.

Pros:
Promys ties all the aspects of the sales cycle together from opportunity to invoice. The reporting features are very flexible including the standard reports and the ability to export a variety of information from the multi functional SO Items Processing screen. Promys applies edits that enforce good business practices.

Cons:
There are so many features in Promys that it can be hard to remember how to use a feature that is used only occasionally. However, the support staff is very quick to respond and retrain when needed.
