Bria is using a call setup protocol which is described as unique and flexible. It is a SIP-based VoIP softphone application, and that means it is using the SIP or Session Initiation Protocol, a type of call setup protocol. A call setup protocol is needed so two or more phones will be able to handle voice calls. The SIP call setup protocol provides users with the capability to control their voice calls from their applications. It is used to set up video and audio meetings or instant messaging conferences.

As a SIP-based VoIP software solution, Bria enables users to integrate their third-party applications with the software. It offers Microsoft Outlook and Salesforce integration. As a result, users will be able to control their communications from within their Salesforce or Outlook app, whether they are using one of these apps or both of them in their workplace.

With the Microsoft Outlook integration, the Bria softphone identifies the contacts that users have from Outlook. This also allows them to synchronize their contacts with Outlook. Very ideal for sales teams, the Salesforce integration enables users to set up the Bria softphone to make calls using the information that they have in their Salesforce app. Bria then will automatically collect details about those calls and send it to Salesforce. Hence, supervisors and managers can easily track the performance of their sales teams, as call information and activities are automatically logged on to Salesforce.

Bria offers voice and video calling functionalities. Users will be able to make a call just by a single click. The software also allows them to make high-quality voice and conference calls, as well as, send and receive HD videos.

The software furthermore enhances communication across teams through its instant messaging capabilities. It allows users to create chat rooms, which function as meeting rooms.
