Evernote Review

PROS: It is designed for everyone regardless of the size of your workflow; be it you have 10 files to store and organize or 10,000, it works for all. Although it takes time to explore its full features, once you get the hang of it, it proves to be an excellent tool. It can help you switch completely to paperless, by managing all your files and messages virtually.

CONS: It may require some upgrade or addition of features such as running a report on the files you have saved and submitting that report for a certain duration. Also, it should have the ability to put Meta data in the system and sort out your files or documents automatically without initiating the process. Apart from this, it should increase its collaboration with other apps in terms of sharing as it is among the Evernote users.

PROS: It performs multiple functions as compared to other apps which may offer one or two functions Evernote has. The clipper feature is compatible with Firefox and thus easy to research and save websites you want to refer to later. You can also tag your notebooks and notes with unique keywords for easy search and access making your life smooth and organized.

CONS: A calendar feature will be an add-on to this app to keep track of the dates. Apart from that, it should integrate more with other third party apps such as Siri, as it is in the case with apps that offer similar solutions. The integration with Gmail needs improving to help offer quality management of your inbox.

PROS: I do not have to keep all my business cards in their hard copy. It can be difficult to keep track of your business cards, if you want to use them in years to come. Luckily, I can use Evernote to capture the image of my cards and store it in the system. This way, even when I lose that card, I will be able to retrieve it on Evernote without much hustle. It makes my work easier as I can connect with LinkedIn from the same platform. After uploading the photo of the card on Evernote, can add unique notes on it and be able to view them later in the years.

CONS: It can be frustrating when you want to transfer some information from the product to another system. Evernote makes it difficult for you as it does not integrate well with other tools. For example, it is not possible to take the contact list from Evernote and copy or transfer it to my CRM. This means that I have to manually copy the list and transfer it to the CRM system which can be a lot of work. Since most of my business cards are hard copy, I end up duplicating the list into my CRM. However, this can be counteracted by the use of the electronic business cards which make the work of transferring contacts to the CRM system easy.

PROS: It helps you to be better organized in terms of the notes. You can access the notes on your phone with ease, share them with multiple users and collaborate with ease. In short, you have a paperless office where you can store and access all your documents without major problems. In my time of using this tool, I have not had major glitches or bugs that kept me away from using it. It is easy to use and set up which means that there is a short learning curve even for beginners. You can also access it from the web-based platform or an application which adds to its flexibility.

CONS: It has multiple limitations when it comes to the functionality. For example, it does not integrate with business platforms such as LinkedIn and Slack. It would be better if it integrated with such platforms or products to help hold meetings or collaborate with clients in a more professional way. Also, it does not have templates for the notes, which means that you have to create notes from scratch which can be cumbersome. It would be better if there were templates on Evernote that gives you a head-start when creating notes. This would make it easy and fast to come up with professional notes. The search or filter tool should be more reliable to help you find the note you are looking for with ease. The live note taking during a live meeting should also be available.

PROS: Since it is compatible with all devices, it makes it easy to synchronize notes and files in those devices. It also means that you can track meetings, notes and have to do lists. You can brainstorm with your team on Evernote by sharing you notes and ideas with them on the same platform. Its tagging features allow you to have multiple notebooks and tag them making it easy to search and organize your work.

CONS: Although there were no major issues with the tool, the fact that it has a paid premium version and a free version where the user has to choose one, seemed to be unsettling in a way. However, you can settle for the free version and enjoy what limited features it has to offer.

PROS: This product worked fairly well for taking meeting notes and saving files.

CONS: I used this product for about 6 months, during which time I found I wanted a follow up function that I could link from meeting notes and that would tie to microsoft outlook. Due to the lack of this feature, I switched to OneNote, which as a microsoft product, was much more conducive to achieving my desired results. After I stopped using Evernote, I forgot to cancel my subscription. Upon my 1 year anniversary, I was charged an additional +/- $70. When I tried to inquire with their customer service about cancelling my subscription and getting a prorated refund, I received no response. So beware when signing up for a product for unwanted reoccurring fees if you decided to stop using the product and a lack of customer service if you have an issue with those associated fees.

PROS: In capturing things from the internet and adding them on your notes, Evernote does the job well. It helps you to manage and organize your notes making it easy to read them. You can search what you want on the web and add to your notebooks via Evernote and therefore allowing you not to miss anything.

CONS: Although helpful in taking and organizing notes, it lacks a walkthrough tutorial you can utilize to learn more about what it has to offer. Instead, it has a detailed way and brings the need to do a lot of searching and course taking to learn about its features, which is boring and takes a lot of time to grasp.

PROS: The synchronization part offers utmost flexibility on how you can access your files once saved in Evernote. You can make notes using your mobile device and synchronize them to all of your devices for ease of accessibility. The organization feature gives you the ability to be creative on how your notebooks appear in the app. You can clip images captured from the web on your notebooks with ease. Apart from that, you can create a to-do list and attach it on your notebooks to keep your day organized.

CONS: It lacks customization on how to manage different notebooks in your Evernote. For example, the cover of the notebooks should be of different colors since different notebooks have different contents and functions and thus it would be ideal to have this form of customization.

PROS: It keeps all your notebooks, documents, and files in order. If you want to access a file you saved a few months ago, you can search for it with ease. It eliminates all the hustle or being disorganized and having to spend hours searching for something you saved. With Evernote, that is long gone and you can ether tag a note or ignite the search function to quickly locate your file or document. It is a powerful tool that helps you to be better organized in your workplace or personal space. Regardless of how many notes or documents you want to save, this tool brings the solution to you. Apart from that, it synchs well with all other devices for flexibility when access information on Evernote.

CONS: There is a drawback when it comes to how much or far you can format the fields on Evernote. This is because, Evernote is supported by Windows, iOS, Mac, Android and Mac. This means that, when you want to format the tool in order to fit your needs, you are limited to a certain level. This can be a negative thing for the user. However, it is a small issue which is negligible at times depending on what you are using the product for. All in all, Evernote gets all your work and materials organized the way you want. It gives you the best environment to be productive in your workplace.

PROS: It offers a day to day solution to everyday tasks you have to carry out. Be it, keeping track of your travel details, shopping list or reference to a particular issue, Evernote helps you to be organized in that sense. It eliminates the need to manually keep track of what you are supposed to do and manages your notes on the move to help you concentrate on other things.

CONS: It can be hectic at first to get used to the tool. There are no clear guidelines or tutorials on how to make the best use of Evernote which can be frustrating. You have to figure out on your own how to explore the advanced features of the App.

PROS: When you compare with similar tools such as OneNote, Evernote is on another higher level. It is fun to use due to its attractive user interface. It supports Windows, iOS, Android, and Mac devices to give users a flexible experience once they start using this tool. You can therefore connect fit with multiple devices such that it gives you he needed flexibility when you want to save a document or a file or when you want to access it. You can access it from any of the devices you have synched with the product. It offers a reliable search feature for all the notes or fiddles you have saved in the tool. Even images are indexed and tagged to help you locate them with ease. In short, Evernote organizes everything for you, which brings about convenience.

CONS: When you compare with other like tools such as OneNote, Evernote is a costly plan. They have increased their subscription for users in the past months which has made this a costly affair. OneNote is completely free and thus some users will opt for this instead of the expensive plan. There is a free plan for Evernote. However, it is limited in terms of functionalities where the main ne is that you are only allowed to synch 2 devices. Apart from that, the developers of the tool keep trying out new features which might not be needed as much by users such as intended. For example the chat feature which has now proven to be of less significance to the users.

PROS: It has everything to make your life easier. When it comes to handling multiple ideas at a go, you can use Evernote to write, save, and organize those ideas making it easy for you to concentrate on other core duties. You can also keep track of those ideas and notes for reference at a later date. It is simple and readily available when you want to search or access notes in the app.

CONS: It can be hectic to learn all the features it has in store to help in proper management of files and notes. It requires extra time to explore its full potential where the problem might not be with the app but the user. The rate of learning may be slow for some and this can prove to be an issue.

PROS: It is an absolute genius tool when it comes to getting you organized. You are able to organize your notes and meetings in the best way possible. It provides an effortless platform on which you can organize all your documents in once place and access them with ease. The integration part is great as it does so with many applications. You can integrate it with Outlook and web platform to help synch your files once you create them. Also, I have been able to link it with Misfit, a fitness application, where it is keeps track of my activities I engage with. The search feature is intuitive since you can locate your document within a short period by text only. It allows you to add check boxes in the checklist you have created and thus efficient.

CONS: The tool is reliable in so many ways. I am yet to explore the great features it has in store. For the few features I have been able to come into terms with, the difference has been great. I am able to manage all my documents and activities with ease. However, it does not integrate with Pinterest which means that I cannot use it much for my personal use. It would be nice if this feature was included in the next upgrade of Evernote to make it more reliable. Apart from that, I do not see anything that I do not like about this product. As for the many features I have not yet explored, I believe this tool can do much more to provide more tutorials on its advanced features.

PROS: It is a life saver when it comes to taking notes in meetings. You do not have to worry about how organized your notes will be as it gives you that comfort. You can organize the notes per client or project, depending on how you want them to appear. You can even connect the tool with all your devices such that when you write a note from a device, it synchs with it automatically. All your notes will be stored in one place and can be assessed from the same location. You can write down your ideas and thoughts and store them in the product for safe keeping and future reference. You can keep and organize all your business and personal projects without much hustle.

CONS: It is a tool that will make note making, storage and organizing easy for you. Whether you are in a meeting or just have a great idea, you can put everything down and be assured that it is safe. You only need to synch it with all the devices you use and you will have all the notes in your Evernote. There is very little, if any, to dislike about this tool. It has come off as a paperless office which allows you to be better organized at what you do. However, it would be better if there was a link for Pinterest.

PROS: The ability to write your notes online and have them automatically saved in all of your devices helps with effective organization of the same. You can write down yours thoughts, record audio files and attach images on your notes using Evernote. This helps you to be creative and utilize your ideas and thoughts to plan and execute with ease.

CONS: There is no freehand drawing feature on the app when you are writing notes. It does not have an in-built pointer to help you draw or highlight texts when you are writing. Although it is compatible with a third party tag, it is not as easy as if it were in-built. Another drawback is that you must be online to attach images to your notebooks and thus difficult to use them in a text when offline.

PROS: It provides offline storage for your web files such as articles with the help of its web clipper. You can save an article and read it later without having to connect with the internet. It is possible to highlight sections of the article while you take notes. The Evernote tool helps one to create keyboard and notes shortcuts for easy reading. It is also compatible with other virtual storage apps such as DropBox which means you can back-up your files to Dropbox. Another advantage of Evernote comes when you want to secure your files and notes. You can forward important emails to your Evernote and arrange them in a way that they are easily accessible. For a secure platform, you can set a unique password code to restrict access to your files. The tool helps you to create images relevant to your work while you can go back to the original note after making a mistake.

CONS: The updated version has added features that make the tool unbearable to use. Features such as Work Chat get in the way of using the tool. The countless explanations and notifications about the new features are annoying and make the software difficult to use. It seems to sway away from its core function of storage and synchronization of files. Its added features are not complementing or supporting the initial features of the tool making it slower in its core function.

PROS: It helps you become organized even when you are not an organized person. With its ability to receive forwarded emails and ideas, it allows you to sort them out later and not miss a thing. You can use tags to organize your notebooks where you have kept important emails and ideas for easy retrieval. Its mobile compatibility allows you to use your mobile device to capture images of important documents such as receipts and save them in your Evernote for safe keeping. You can also search images and photos with ease by text, making it a great organization tool for any professional.

CONS: The major problem is with how it looks. It appears dull and unattractive to the eye which invites a boring atmosphere around. There are no features to help you change the theme of your workspace to something lively. For those looking to use it for long hours, it can be unattractive and set a dull mood.

PROS: It helps to put your ideas into writing and store them in this tool. When it comes to ideas, they come and go. In that case, whenever you think about a good idea, you have to put it down so that you can use it at a future date. You do not need a notebook as Evernote is there. It helps you to be organized in terms of the notes you make based on the ideas that come up. Your thoughts are put into writing and organized in an easy to access platform. As such whenever you want to access the thoughts in the notes, you can do so with ease regardless of where you are. You do not have to worry about losing your notebook as they are safely stored in the product. You can also take a photo using your phone and upload it on Evernote for safe keeping.

CONS: There is much to learn on how to make the best use of this tool. It can work for or against you depending on how you use it. When it comes to the organization of your notes, you will need to be smart about it. This is because you might end up being disorganized where your notes will be difficult to trace. As an individual, you have to take time and learn how each feature in Evernote works before you can commit to it. All in all, it promises organized notes and schedule once you get the hang of things.

PROS: Its ability to be compatible with all devices allows one to save or synchronize notes in all the devices that have Evernote. You can access your notes and files from any device regardless of the device you used to create the note. Everything you write, from say your mobile device, is synchronized in your computer or laptop provided Evernote is installed in those devices, making it easy to access the files on the go.

CONS: It may not be problem to any other user, but I find the interface of Evernote to be too powerful. I have a problem with how its upgraded features do everything for you regarding keeping track of your notes. We might not share the same views, but this is just an honest individual opinion.

PROS: It makes accessing the notes easier since you can synchronize it in all of your devices. This means that, you can save a note using your mobile phone and later use your desktop to access that particular note. This help to manage all your notes and with the ease of accessibility, you are in a better place. Apart from notes, you can store images in the notes. It helps you to organize your notebooks in a tag based manner which makes it easy to search for a notebook. Regardless of how many notebooks you have in the system, you can use the tag to narrow down the search and access your notebook within a few minutes.

CONS: Every tool out there will have its limitations. However, the best tools will have few as compared to the benefits they bring to the table. For Evernote, it is no different as it offers reliable organization solutions for documents, files, images and notes. You can store your ideas and notes in a virtual platform where you can access from multiple devices. However, if you are on the free version of the product, you will only be limited to 2 devices. Also, the editing of tables on Evernote is not as reliable as it should be. This could be the case because of the user interface, which is not designed to do that.

PROS: It is possible to keep track of your notes and access them with ease and on demand. It is also compatible with Windows Client to help you can store all your files, and documents in the cloud, which creates a reliable platform on which you can access your notes online from any device using any browser.

CONS: When you want to access files through the web, it can be annoying especially when you want to delete the text with bullets. It becomes annoying when you want to remove text from the notebooks though the web client. As for the security part, accessing notes through the web or Android app is not secure as encryption of text is limited to the Windows client. Access is limited to two devices for their Android app and for the free version.
