PROS: Microsot Project presents businesses with a friendly and comfortable way to manage projects, particularly those modeled on linear workflows and dependencies. The software really helps you meet deadlines and more.
CONS: It is not well integrated and is best for project managers and personnel who operate in the higher lever or managment level planning of work. It can be a total wast of time if you do not know what you are doing. Better if you opt for a system that combines integrated project planning, timetracking, issues and tickets.

PROS: I like the ability to customize the look, and to format the display so I can easily follow when dealing with team members. I’m allowed to add custom columns, to filter and sort tasks, to keep track of the meetings in the notes for every task, to sort and filter out closed items and to consider the upcoming tasks.
CONS: It can be demanding when entering duration, work percent complete and resources. The trouble is that if you don’t do it right it overwrites the other fields and sometimes I don’t know what’s going on at the moment and later it is difficult to recover.

PROS: There are lot of things you can do with MPPM tool. It offers IRR, integration with MS TFS, complete control over the breakdown structure, includes Gantt chart and it allows you to plan a project within few minutes. I also like that it displays the information in old fashion.
CONS: I’m not satisfied with resource management, there are other products that offer better. Also, if other users want to open any project files they need to install this software. And you’re going to need some training so you can use all the functions of this product.

PROS: Microsoft Project is simply the best tool when it comes to creating Gantt Charts. It is also an awesome application for scheduling projects and managing budgets. The features are all user friendly.
CONS: There are some instances where te auto scheduler tends to mess things up especially when you need to work on it on a later time. It's like when Microsoft automatically formats an image you inserted in a document and you spend an hour trying to figure out how to achieve the size that you want when it can be simplified.

PROS: Microsoft Project is a smart and user-friendly software that offers a lot of functionalities. I can easily see my the availability of my resources, work schedule, skill set, etc. I can look up an activity's start and end date, as well as the steps taken by the predecessor and the successor. Mapping relationships between activities is also a breeze. I can easily calculate critical path and slack.
CONS: As much as I love the software, Microsoft Project tends to crash more often than not. It is not an ideal system for complicated projects. I also find uloading timesheets of resources into the software quite complicated.

Ease of Use
PROS: Project is widely used to track projects of different sizes. I like the dependency chaining feature which helps to visualize task and resource scheduling. The app is great for tracking milestones at a high level and for assigning resources to particular tasks. Microsoft Project is a great fit if you use a waterfall model.
CONS: Microsoft Project is not ideal for agile development. To track tasks at a line item level, you can easily use a simple tool like Excel. Though Excel lacks the flexibility of MS Project, you can get the work done easily. Another drawback is if it is not used properly, MS Project can actually affect a project manager’s ability to track a project effectively. Some people overuse the app but do not gain too much for their efforts.
