SAP Jam is a cloud-based enterprise social networking suite and collaboration app that helps users connect with employees, partners, and customers. SAP Jam can be utilized to protect company data by collaborating over a secure network. The app helps employees to find colleagues and experts to collaborate with, as well as providing a place to manage and organize projects.

SAP Jam provides vertical industry solutions for Information Technology, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales, and HR teams. The app can be utilized to lower training costs by sharing company knowledge and documentation. SAP Jam also offers a platform for client-facing teams to communicate with partners and clients, discussing topics in online groups and reducing issue resolution time.

SAP Jam provides enterprise social networking features such as project collaboration tools, task management, discussions and polls, instant messaging, discussions and chat rooms, document and content sharing,, microblogging, and personal profiles. HR: SAP Jam complements formal learning solutions with social learning where users can partake in topical communities, work with mentors and coaches in private one-to-one or one-to-many groups, share knowledge and ask questions, and ask for advice. SAP Jam reduces learning costs, improves effectiveness, and increases employee engagement. Integration with SuccessFactors Learning and SAP Learning Solution allow users to search in-course directories and locate related social learning communities and content. Each community includes “work patterns” which are pre-built social processes for common activities around learning, onboarding, etc. Additionally, communities allow users to post content, create/share/view videos, share ideas, and find relevant experts.

Sales: SAP Jam enables sales teams to reduce sales cycle times, collectively build winning proposals, and engage customers. With the built-in work patterns for account management, opportunity management, deal rooms, and customer engagement, sales teams can come together with other internal team members and channel partners to perform account planning, discuss key obstacles, work on joint plans, and engage customers directly in kickoff meetings and requirements collection. Integration with SAP Cloud for Customer, SAP CRM, and SAP ECC enables immediate ability to kick off a collaborative process directly from the account or opportunity. Problem solving tools such as pro/con tables and ranking assist in problem solving and decision making. Participants can view within SAP Jam the opportunities, service requests, orders, and invoices to get a full picture of the customer. Documents can be collectively edited, key dates shared, and tasks assigned and tracked.

Service: SAP Jam provides service teams the ability to streamline issue resolution and to improve customer satisfaction. With the built-in work patterns for service issue resolution, teams can come together quickly to collaborate on escalations. Additional work patterns can also reduce onboarding time for new service representatives and provide a community for customers to engage and work with service directly. Integration with SAP Cloud for Customer and SAP CRM enable service teams to view service requests in SAP Jam and immediately initiate groups to engage key stakeholders in resolving a customer issue. Customers can ask questions and review best answers, review and rate documentation, and watch videos of how to self-service specific issues.

PROS: The courses can be fun for kids to share, and interact on their projects

CONS: I was mortified to find out that my 8yr old child was learning definitions of words like bi, and pans from other kids on Jam.com. These kids are posting things about their sexuality unchecked by moderators; yet when my child responds with "that's weird" he's dubbed some type of verbal bully, and suspended. They updated their policy to address sexual content yet the damage was already done, and my child treated like a violator when it was his innocence that was violated. We continued to use Jam with hopes this issue wouldn't come up again. A few weeks later my son posted silly comments joking about our dog's poop, and he was banned off the site. No doubt he wouldn't be banned for poop jokes if the moderators were taking responsibility for themselves regarding the first incident. Now after many hours of dedication to his art projects on Jam and a growing enthusiasm to share his progress, I have to try and reassure my son of his value and importance to his community of peers after facing this type of rejection. I'm completely disgusted, and so very disappointed for my kid.

PROS: It's simplicity and intuitive design are some of its biggest advantages. Its streamlined user interface makes it quick and easy for new users to learn through this platform.

CONS: There have been instances where its social interaction part gets a bit confusing. Whenever a buzz post is present, the platform ends up creating an overwhelming number of notifications.
