What is Freshsales?

Freshsales is the fourth addition in the Freshdesk product lineup, and a quality CRM designed for high-velocity teams to keep track of contacts while solving their inquiries. It won our Great User Experience Award. Satisfied sales teams describe it as the single contact management hub that helps them stay in control of thousands of leads, but provides at the same time a simple and easy-to-navigate interface.

Freshsales was a response to the company’s own necessity to handle multiple aspects of the sales process, and eliminate the need for users to wander around programs to get the job done. At its core, Freshsales has collated all functions of legacy CRM systems, but found its own way to optimize sales and prioritize pipeline opportunities. As president Dilawar Syed explains, Freshsales was even intended to be a dynamic analytic contributor, which doesn’t only reveal magnificent sales insights, but gives companies hints on how to use those to their advantage. That’s how Freshsales came to have all important sales performance capabilities, and is used worldwide, in particular by active Freshdesk users.

But why would someone choose a pioneer CRM on such a competitive market? The truth is most customers rely on Freshdesk’s impeccable reputation, and only then discover the genuine power of this system. With Freshsales, there are no bulky and complex set up procedures, multiple integrations are up and functioning, and all operations are performed and stored in cloud. The core of its performance is depicting where leads are coming from, and that’s something no small or midmarket business would refuse on a fraction of the price.

Nevertheless, one needs to look deeper inside this system to understand what it can really do. Together with lead capturing, Freshsales can distribute, nurture, score, divide, and verify leads, and does so via multiple channels of communication. Users get into their hands an advanced suite of features, including auto-dialers, call recording, call routing and affiliate management, but the thing that certainly distinguishes Freshsales from similar programs is reporting. The reason why this sales hub is a reporting leader are first and foremost its revenue analytics features, where all relevant source and rep metrics are pulled out and collated into an appealing and accurate report. Unlike most small-biz report tools, Freshsales applies a variety of filters when summarizing your data, and makes it possible to group and organize results in your own way. If you prefer, you can make summaries, create charts and tables, or master the craft of matrix reporting very fast.

One of the biggest advantages of this system is its affordable price. Small teams can get use the service for free, and midmarket businesses and corporations can transit to a paid package in a relatively painless way. The Blossom Plan costs only $12 per month, followed by the Garden Plan ($25/month), the Estate Plan ($49/month), and one made specifically for enterprises, the Forest Plan ($79/month). What is also good to know is that there are no recurrent costs and unexpected feed – with Freshsales, you get what you paid for, and nothing else.

Many good words were told on Freshsales behalf, but which are the things that really distinguish this CRM? For the purpose of answering this question, we have examined the benefits it has provided to its current users. These are the positive cues you can expect:

Email Tracking

Sales reps and agents certainly appreciate the possibility to see who has opened their emails, and who has ignored them. As simple as it sounds, this is still the best practice of discovering who is interested in a product, and should therefore be prioritized for nurturing. Another catchy feature is that Freshsales allows your team to send bulk emails drafted on personalized templates, schedule those and sync them with your calendars, and relate them automatically to your contact records to export all relevant information. The system is particularly selective when it comes to depicting metrics, which means it will spot all relevant details in the email without you triggering a single action for the purpose.

Direct Calls

With Freshsales, it is considerably easy to peak within the contact’s history while you’re communicating with them, discover what has indeed piqued their interest, and how they interact with your product. Needless to say, this is the easiest way to close deals with hot leads and relevant contacts. You will probably love how this feature looks: once you run the system, you will discover a neat timeline where contacts are segmented on the basis of their behavior, and listed with all emails and engagement information to let you score them easily.

Lead Management

As we already mentioned, a good CRM is not only supposed to attract leads and discover where they come from, but to manage them appropriately so that they can become loyal users. Freshsales uses AI-based lead scoring and does a very good job in terms of contact management, leveraging the 360 degrees-view on all conversations and relevant details, and the advanced differentiation between pending, won, and lost deals. The system is packed with notifiers that make sure you will never forget an appointed meeting/task, among which the jot down notes and comments.

Sales Management

Freshsales is foremost a sales CRM, so it is worth noting that it offers full visibility on all stages of the sales process. As you move up the deal ladder, Freshsales will make it easy to sort and filter close dates, distinguish bestsellers, and make sudden changes for all actions. It is where the system’s handy drag-and-drop navigation is most useful: in few seconds and with few moves, you can customize follow ups, analyze wins and losses, identify trends, or spot bottlenecks that have been slowing your performance down. The very same system can be used to track deals on the go and from mobile devices, find locations and fix personalized meetings with customers and collaborators, and track the age of the deal to change its stage with ease.

Analytics & Reporting

The important highlight of Freshsales is not only how it receives information, but also the array of possibilities it provides for users to manage this data once they have it available. Along with the suite of default reports (pipeline, territory, email reports, and much more), Freshsales makes it possible to build custom reports for every contact, deal, or opportunity. Plus, all reports can be generated at any point in time, so that the user can summarize information when changing the course of his campaigns. Recently, developers expanded their modern analytic suite with sales activity and trendline reports, which give users an even clearer picture of how their sales strategies are progressing. An interesting feature is also the phone activity reports, used predominantly to monitor and compare the performance of sales reps.

Outstanding customer support

As experienced Freshdesk users we are already familiar with the fact that we can rely on this company, and count on a knowledgeable technical team to answer all of our questions. The same customer care logic applies for Freshsales, where support is not limited to a particular plan. Instead, all users get access to a rich knowledge base, where they can learn how the system works, or capture tips related to lead management, tasks, appointments, deals, and a variety of technical admin settings. A large portion of their experts’ articles are devoted to reporting, and make it possible for users to learn how to perform complex matrix analytics, and import/export data in and from the system. In case the solution you need is not already in the database (doesn’t happen often), you can contact professionals 24/7 using the live chat feature, phone call, or email.

Seamless integrations

Freshsales will obviously support your Freshdesk tickets with all details and relevant rep conversations displayed on comprehensive lists. It is thanks to this integration that you can understand how customers feel about your product, and make accurate predictions about renewal and eventual purchases. Furthermore, you get to resolve your CRM tickets using the same platform, as you can easily update any field property, and keep everyone in the team on the same page.

Freshsales is also flawlessly integrated with Google Calendar and Segment, which allows you to be in full control of your events, making you less likely to miss a meeting or a client’s appointment. PROS: You can quickly and easily use Freshsales, all you have to do is to sign up for an account, change some email options and get started. It doesn’t require too much tweaking because everything is simple and the tool is self-explanatory. I like the integration with Zapier, and I like that sign up request means that you have lead into Freshsales and then you can convert them to contacts as soon as their account is setup.

CONS: The email text box is small and this means that I have to scroll on longer messages in order to find what I’m looking for.

The least favorable review

PROS: Easy to set up and use, lots of features, integrates with Freshdesk ticket system and Freshchat.

CONS: If you customers don't speak english forget about using this CRM as you cannot create a fully internationalized experience for your customers and Freshsales literally don't care. After subscribing as a lead to the CRM there is a ugly non customizable page that customers arrive on which says you subscribed successfully in english and this cannot be changed or styled. When you talk to support they claim this is not a problem and that it is not a priority apparently because not enough customers have requested the change (obviously they have more english speaking customers than non english speaking hence there will never be enough requests to make it a prio over english speaking customers requests). They cannot even say when they will fix this issue, not even say within a year, they literally told us it is not on their agenda and they can do nothing about it. In general any bug or problem you have will never get fixed by support and I don't think they ever even bring it up with there dev team, they will only refer you to documentation and then make excuses for months and months and months until you give up asking. Its a real shame as the CRM has a lot of great features, is easy to us, but is let down by vital missing features and their terrible support, and the dev team who release features and removes them without notifying any customers and don't care that it caused you problems in the process.

PROS: What I like most about this tool is the fact that I can easily manage leads from one place. I cans end emails, track pipelines, winnig deals and managiong calendar in real time from dashboard. I personally like the email tracking feature because It provides me with full information about those who viewed the email.

CONS: I haven’t run into some issues or something that I might dislike about this tool.

PROS: I like the Kanban function with deals. I love filtering out my customers/deals or leads filtered according to my preferences. I get to keep my leads/contacts/companies separated while showcasing relationships of all parties. When it comes to online support, Freshsales is fantastic since you get answers almost immediately.

CONS: There's currently no dashboard available in their Garden plan. There are issues connecting customers between this tool and Freshdesk. Training requires further attention regarding content being covered during webinars and taking part in the test. If training is a lot more interactive webinars, then dealing with situations imposed by questions in a test can be answered.

In general any bug or problem you have will never get fixed by support and I don't think they ever even bring it up with there dev team, they will only refer you to documentation and then make excuses for months and months and months until you give up asking. Its a real shame as the CRM has a lot of great features, is easy to us, but is let down by vital missing features and their terrible support, and the dev team who release features and removes them without notifying any customers and don't care that it caused you problems in the process.

PROS: We like how easy it is to make customizations. We also like how the Freshsales team is constantly available for phone calls for any tech problems. The flow of the pipeline is clear and prompts that are purposely set up for every deal are on the same page. It also encourages us to push the deal forward.

CONS: The only difficulty that we faced is that there have been times when redundant fields are displayed. Certain glitches can be seen in the Quickbooks integration. It'd be nice if there's a colour cue in case a deal gets stalled at a specific stage.

PROS: We run a unique business. We have a differen approach of generating leads and organizing accounts. Freshsales assisted us in every step to create a CRM that functions with the needs of our company. We've scheduled a lot of calls from their team. Their support team is professional, helpful, and very polite in answering all our inquiries.

CONS: There's nothing really wrong with the platform that I hate. Our company had to deal with challenges in landing a CRM that caters to our specific needs. We test most CRMs in the market. Turn out, Freshsales has met a majority of our needs compared to other platforms.

PROS: There are a ton of reasons to love this platform. It can actually help in prospecting and closing deals. It comes with a fantastic UI. It's a lot better than other CRMs in today's market. It comes with a great points system to have good leads qualification. It also has an integrated phone number that can be activated for logging and recording calls straight to the CRM platform.

CONS: It'd be nice if you're given the ability to manage system scores for leads qualifications. In addition, customer support could respond a bit quicker when dealing with issues. For instance, we were close to a week with an issue. Answers for every question that we had came every couple or so days when there was something important.

PROS: It gave lots of opportunities to help me concentrate on my sales. When I use it, I saved a ton of resources and time. The app does a tremendous job assigning potential customers. I create my own meetings and tasks while receiving email alerts. I feel like are robust featuers that can help you succeed in business.

CONS: At times, it runs really slow. I'd like it if it runs a little faster. What's more, our customers want to create an integration with social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, and etc... I'm also in need of increasing the comments section while being given the freedom to make font customizations.

PROS: As data analyst I need a solution so I can manage CRM without wasting too much time on it. Freshsales does the job because it provides me full set of functionality for sales leads, and it shows me ways to interact with my current customers. I like that I can track potential customers and leads. Its interface is clean and straightforward and it is highly customizable. Thanks to its mobile apps I can keep track of records and track numbers and emails in less than no time.

CONS: It can be really frustrating when I need to delete huge amount of records manually.

PROS: The good thing with this is that you can monitor all activities you've made with the customer. It's a big help especiall when trying to meet the goals that our boss has proposed for us. In addition, it lets us know on how we can close a deal. It has loads of information. Plus it has tutorials that are easy to understand.

CONS: It's hard working with its especially when the internet starts to slow down. That means it would entail one to have a very fast internet connection to run this platform. It gets crazy at times when trying to get to the database. We can't export the .CSV information from our own data feed sheet.

PROS: It gives my team and I the freedom to send out drafted emails with on a customized pattern then setting a timetable for those, and synchonizing them with calendars. I can automatically get them to our contact records to have all the pertinent details exported. I love using it!

CONS: I didn't run into any issues with this tool. As for my team, they're totally happy using it. The best thing with this is that it can help us be more productive.

PROS: Thanks to 2-way email tracking and bulk email functions we can save lot of times and we are able to connect and interact with customers in real time. We are now more focused on our core business. The set up is easy and straightforward and if you run into some issues or misunderstanding you can always rely on product’ support service.

CONS: I’d like to have options to disable or at least hide some standard fields and elements so I can make the workflow even more easier, because there are some functionality that do not serve our business needs so we’d like to hide them.

PROS: I like everything it has to offer. I like how you can customize things. The support team has been nothing short of fantastic. Pleasant user interface experience. Functionality is excellent. This is a system that takes a bit of time to develop. I gets better with time. The implementation was helpful for our development.

CONS: One of the biggest difficulties that I had to face was creating everything from scratch. Implementation appears to be a bit slow. The great thing with HubSpot or Salesforce is that they've done those things a million times. As a result, they've got templates for it.

PROS: I like that we can manage leads easily and put all data on each client. This is great solution for team work because I can assign tasks to my co-workers. I get email notifications whenever client checks on an email.

CONS: I don’t like that ranking points of a lead stop rise when changing some information that wasn’t accurate or when I need to add new camps and info. It would be great if the points rise up whenever client shows some interest such as feedback. Also, they could add option to clean data.

PROS: I really like Freshsales and everything about this solution. I can easily set up account by using its features. The UI is seamless and intuitive onel. It offers great set of features that provide us with neccessary insights that are helpful for closing deals. PROS: I have tried lot of similar CRM products but Freshsales is something different. It integrates perfectly with other products and it has built-in phone, it has bulk email functionality, gmail integration, provides notifications. You can have lot of options, capabilities and functionalities by paying for one product like Freshsales. The other good thing is that it doesn’t require managing everytime when we have orders and this saves us lot of time and energy.

CONS: They could add more features for reports. Also, I’d like to see the phone interface changed. Before Freshsales we had used other similar solution and as far as I can say that we won’t go back to the previous one or trying to search for new one.

PROS: It appears to have rapidly improved. You'll realize that it offers a combination of just about every Sales CRM there is. Anything that appears relevant to a contact can be see in the comprehensive page. Interactions with other people that can't be spotted in your contact list can automatically receive additional leads.

CONS: It appears the contact sync isn't available. We wanted to depend on Zapier to synchonize directly with Google. Pricing will be more expensive as you move up to higher tier plans. Its iOS app isn't formatted for the iPhone X and it doesn't look polished.

PROS: I have great experience with Freshsales, I tried Salesforce, Sugar and Nimble and as far as I can tell Freshsales offers huge amount of features that are great for running our services. The system is intuitive, easy to use and its UI is simple and straightforward. There are lot of things that I like about this tool, like email tracking, read receipts, reply notifications. I can respond to emails and keep in touch with our customers in real time.

CONS: They could enlarge the size od the data entry box when replying to an email, I believe they will work on this issue.

PROS: I was searching for a solution that could help me to manage the CRM. Freshsales offers great tools that are great and valuable for following our leads, converting them and keeping in touch with the existing ones. It is great tool for converting leads into customers and thanks to its score system we are able to highlight those who are interested in our services and products. The UI is fresh, everything in perfect order and seamless.

CONS: They could make the dashboard more powerful when controling data.
